Why is the series called Metroid instead of Samus?

samus souns to weird just plain samus dosnt roll off the tounge like Mertoid

I guess your right, now that i think about it a samus doesnt really even sound like a video game.

Metroid does sound like a video game? If you lived in the 80's wouldn't you laugh no matter what the title was?
