Section 1: Spectro-suspicion

M.A.R.Y. seemed very giddy and happy as of late. Spectrograph-98%
Goon was still depressed, moping about the place.

These two would often cross paths during the day. And while Goon was humming the funeral martch, M.A.R.Y. was singing to herself

I went to a party at the local county jail,
the cons were dancin' and the band began to wail...

“WHY ARE YOU IN SUCH A GOOD MOOD?” Goon demanded, finaly snapping.

Without a sound, M.A.R.Y. pulled out a device that looked like a miniature projector.

She flipped the switch, and video began to play. It was Ivony, with two adults standing behind her.

She was sitting on the bottom step of a staircase that appeared to be accending into the heavens.

“Please come inside...” the man and woman begged. “No! Not without Goon!” she said, crossing her arms defiantly.

She looked up, and saw a projection of Goon. She dashed up, and smiled. Neither Ivony nor Goon said anything for awhile, they just looked at eachother.

“Can I send an item through” Ivony asked, turning to M.A.R.Y. She nodded. “But it will shorten the three-hour limit by half an hour.

Suddenly, a clang was heared, and a silver locket fell into Goon's hands. Inside was one of the photos Ivony had taken, a nice shot of the two of them together.

“T-thank you...” Goon said, putting it around his neck. After that, the two talked for what seemed like hours.

“You have 13 seconds left...” the projector machine said in a dry voice.

“Goodbye, Ivony...” Goon said. “G'bye, I'll be waiting right here for you.” she said, waving.

The machine then cut off. Goon turned to M.A.R.Y., and embraced her in a hug. She gave him a knowing smile.

“You are the best sister in the world, I can never than you enough...”

Moongood suddenly cut in. “That's touching and all, but we have issues. Authoriti Patrols have tracked us through the signal the spectrograph gave off!”

No, it was broadcasting straight into the heavens. It's one of those “I'm not going into heaven until you're here” kind of things.

(I went a different direction)
Section 3: Meanwhile II

Another soul, simmilar to Peaks (she was ageless), walked the earth. It was she who had cursed Peaks.

The drawback to any given shamanistic curse is that it grants the victim one cast of the same curse. Peaks accidentily cast the youth curse back at her (he really was 3 at this time and was merely mimicing her), making her ageless forever.

She wasn't what one would typicly picture when thinking of a shaman. She wasn't a witch doctor-ish creepy person, but rather a nicely dressed little girl. Her curses were done by drawing symbols, with three levels of strength:

For an immediate and short effect, she could trace the symbol with her finger. For a longer lasting effect, she could draw the symbols in paint. For a perminant effect, she could draw the symbols with the ash from a burnt ghostwood tree.

Her name was Younai, and she was actually quite kind for someone who excelled in curses. She was of some relation to Sargent Leopold, the leader of the Authoriti Patrols.

As such, she could come and go and basicly do whatever she wanted, and the patrols would overlook her.

She wore a dress that would remind one of a russian naval uniform, coupled with a purse full of her shaman supplies, whenever she roamed what was left of the city.

“Tsk tsk tsk, these robots leave such a mess.” She traced a symbol in the dirt with her finger, and all the debris lying around vanished. “Even a city that looks like a bomb hit it needs some decency...”
With that, she set out to explore the part of the city that she enjoyed most, the graveyard.

It was such a quiet and serene place, and she would put a flower on each and every grave everytime she visited. Other visitors would watch her in silence, mystefied that a child cared so much.

She was technicly a high-ranking authority patrol officer, codename “VooDoo”. She decided she'd check out the area that was being investigated...

Section 4: Tsk tsk tsk...

Younai silently crept to the lab. On the door of the lab she traced a symbol, and the door swung opened forcefully.

“Identify yourself!” Moongood demanded. “Agent VooDoo of the Authoriti Patrol!” Younai proclaimed.
“Is that you, shaman?” Peaks asked.

Younai blushed. She would never admit it, but harboured feelings for Peaks. Peaks reciprocated these feelings, but wouldn't admit it either.

What resulted was a face-to-face confrontation with the pair of them blushing and trying to look angry.

“Of all the people in all the places in all the world, I run into you...” Younai said, her hands already itching to draw a symbol. Likewise Peaks's trigger finger was itching.

“Have you two met before?” Moongood asked. “You could say that...” Peaks and Younai said simultaniously.

“We should take this outside...” Peaks said. “Excellent suggestion...” Younai said, copying his accent. “Ooh, a fight!” Goon said. M.A.R.Y. looked at him crossly. “Don't encourage them!” she said.

This fight had been on hold for many years, neither of them had a good fight sience then.

Peaks loaded his musket and fired, and in a fluid movement Younai drew a symbol on the ground. The musketball split into fragments, many striking Younai.

The symbol that deflected the bullet also shot a small ammount of lightning at Peaks. Goon kept watching, a grin on his face.

“Haven't seen a good fight in ages!” he proclaimed. Peaks and Younai grinned, they hadn't felt this alive in ages.

Peaks had already reloaded his musket, and Younai was tracing a symbol. Peaks fired, and the symbol re-directed the bullet. Peaks fired at it with another bullet, showering them both in shrapnel.

They continued to sparr for hours on end. “Are you really with the Authoriti Patrol?” Peaks asked. “I'm in it, but they just ignore me. I seem to be able get around better than most people though...”

I'll correct the numbers later, writing a story entirely from a DSi isn't easy.

Section 5: The Shaman's Reprise

That morning, Younai took one of her regular walks to the graveyard. However, it was guarded by patrollers this morning.

“Agent VooDoo, good morning. What brings you here?” Younai rolled her eyes, a traced a symbol with her finger.

The guards were instantly warped to... where now? “Well, that's the fun,” she said to the narrator, “Nobody knows.”

Glad to have been talked to for once, the narrator continued telling the story with renewed vigor.

Younai stepped into the graveyard, and proceeded to place a flower on every grave.

“You knew him?” a young woman asked. “No, but everyone diserves to be remembered.” she said. ”You're one of a kind...” the woman said, a soft look coming to her face.

“Thank you, you're too kind.” Younai said. In her purse she pulled out a small vial of ghostwood ashes. She then drew on the ground a symbol.

This symbol would make anything said by other Authoriti Patrollers written in a notebook with the same symbol on it's surface.

She hated to have to set up such secutity in her favorite place, but no place was completely safe anymore.

“Tsk tsk tsk, you still love your walks in the graveyard, eh?” Peaks said, drifting in. Everything for a small radius around him had the heartwarming glow and feel of holidays past.

“You didn't bring your musket to a graveyard, did you?” she asked. “Agenst my better judgement, I did not. But I still have the control of kinetic energy and gravity going if you try anything.”

They both smiled, but suddenly a shot fired in the silence. “VooDoo, you go near a member of Systonic?”

Younai looked up with a look that was a mix of forced happiness and distain. “Mr. Leopold...” Peaks said, immediatly warping gravity to move his musket to his hands.

Leopold chuckled. “My supposed foe is a little marksman?” he asked. Peaks loaded his musket in a fluid movement, and took aim.

Section 6: A Climactic Battle This Way Comes! Pt. 1

“I can't fight in a mortal shell...” Younai complained. She prepared to trace another symbol.

You see, shamans are heralds of the beyond, and have the ability to commune with spirits. A shaman's most powerful state is their spirit form, a physical manifestation of their very souls. It seperares from the human body, or “shell”.

In spirit form, two skills become avalible. The use of the shamanistic flames, Pyrus Mythica. This red and blue flame could hurt a peron's spirit form.

A non-shaman could do nothing about this harm in terms of prevention or healing, as they have no control of their spirit form.

The other power is akin to the Spectrograph, but it was very draining to use.

Now freed of her human form, she looked at Peaks. “Now THAT's the shaman that cursed me during World War Two!” he said.

In this form, she wore a tattered blue dress that stopped past her knees. She wore neither shoes nor socks, and wore bangles on her ankles and wrists. She wore earrings made of bone, and her hair was erratic and spikey.

This coupled with her copper-colored skin gave her the look of a traditional shaman. She grinned, and her hands became aflame with Pyrus Mythica, one red and one blue.

“I don't see why a fight is in order, but if you want one, I'll give it to you!”

He pulled out a thin-bladed sword. It's hilt was made of contain mercury, as was the blade. This was the famed “Quicksilver Sword”, able to liquify and reform as needed.

He jumped inbetween the two, and liqified the sword. He sent the molten mercury blob at Peaks, but the boy rolled out of the way.

The whole time, Leopold thought that Younai would fight for him, whilst Peaks thought she would fight for him.

She disliked the situation greatly, and so she waited for an oppertune moment. When the Quicksilver Sword reformed, she dashed in and snatched it.
