Just a thought...
Did you ever think maybe Nintendo WILL bring Mother 3 to the USA? Maybe they knew we could have ROMs of it and a community for it faster than you can say "Mr. Saturn". The first and third games were never released in the USA, but look around. The communities for such games are mind blowing! Maybe they are waiting for our hype to burn out and waiting for us to stop attacking them with requests.
OR they could have carelessly tossed Mother 3 in the trash, never once thinking of giving it to us. It doesn't matter, because we the fans are bringing it here. Sure, Nintendo might claim the english patch as their own. They might even throw the producers of the patch in the clink and wash thier hands of the whole thing.
With or without the game in America, the fanbase is huge. So before you go attacking Nintendo, think about this: If you push them too far, the ROM might get searched for and players of it might be punished, what then? We'll have no way of ever playing Itoi's wonderful creation again, and no way of passing down a great game to further generations.
Remember this, if Starmen.net and the rabid Mother fans ruin it for everyone else, there will be consequences, and singing eight notes of a song, praying, and deflecting lightning with the Franklin Badge won't be able to save you when they come. You won't be able to "return once more to the fighting scene".
So think before you act, or we'll all be trapped in the Absolutley Boring Capsule, with only the fans to blame for a Motherless eternity!

Re: Just a thought...
Yes, I know, you mentioned that before. You seem to be more of a first person shooter than an RPGer.
The Mother games have been Nintendo's sore spot for awhile. After they brought Earthbound to us, most people thought it odd. Some people loved it. A number of these people made Starmen.net. When they found out Nintendo was not giving us the sequal, Mother 3, they were outraged.
Starmen.net began to attack Nintendo. This is not always the best idea. Pushing them might make them mad and allow them the legal action they need to search for and punish those with Mother 3 ROMs.
All i'm saying is the fans are pushing it too far, you're going to ruin it for us all if you don't calm down.
I'm a fan too, but I'm a passive person that thinks before marching Pig Masks through Tenement Square.
If you push someone, or something to far over the edge, it's bound to break, correct?
Don't push it, that's all i'm saying. Feel free to disagree and keep attacking Nintendo, but you will pay for it in the future...

Re: Just a thought...
The sad thing is that Nintendo has the manpower to sue the people out of everything they'll ever have...

Yes, but Namco, Square Enix, Capcom, all the video game industries can get big heads and dangle what we want over out heads as if we were dogs!
What they fail to see however, is mistreated consumers stop buying products...

Re: Just a thought...
it's scary to think...but if we(nintendo palace) start a rally to not buy nintendo games ...nintendo would die...(we're not going to do that...i hope...)
Re: Just a thought...
We alone could not kill Nintendo, but even if we did, we'd have to arise a new gaming industry. We can give Ioti's and other ending series a proper sendoff! And we can make games this generation wants!
And Nintendo would merge with another company to take out the consumers, like Activision fusing with Blizzard.

Re: Just a thought...
Wow a thread with good ideas. I haven't seen a new thread in a long time. I agree about what you said but I think that it may still be a good idea because if we stop maybe they would think we didn't care. I read somewhere that they were about to let it come out but no one was talking about it to them so they decided not too. We must let our ideas be heard!
P.S. I beat Mother 3 yesterday.

Re: Just a thought...
well...they r going to remember the new games if the love to play video games...or if they r not into gaming they r going to remimber the old mario classics...or they live in a cave and never heard of nintendo.
Re: Just a thought...
If you think about it though, they started as a card game company. It would take literally take legions to take down Nintendo, they've been big for ages and will have all of the Non-Mother fans on thier side. I've beaten all three, and they are good games, but are they worth all this legal action and possible lawsuits?
I'd have to agree with Picori, if you bite the hand that feeds you entertainment, you're going to stop getting it. They might pull out of America because of the reaction. I'm not saying you should give up, anything to get the Mother series here is good, but you should go about it another way.
Or, you could go all black market on them and sell translated carted ROMs, but that would really get you in trouble, nothing in this life is free, and ROMs chuckle at that concept. Sadly enough, this is the only way Americans can get a taste of some of the best games from 1989, 1995, and 2006.
I've only recently played these games, but they are so vibrant, and so different from todays traditional RPGs. They go so well together, and they obviously were popular, you don't see any Final Fantasy charachters makeing a crossover for SSBB, do you?
(In case you've forgotten, I don't post often, and a big post is rare, so don't expect too much from me for awhile)

Re: Just a thought...
Wow, Catalyst quite a nice post you have there! I do agree but, I don't think we could get sued for wanting a game from them.
