Project Systonic: Youth of the Experiment

Section 1: Meet Professor Moongood

“We shouldn't be here...” came the timid voice of a young girl. The lab they had entered was dark and full of glowing vials.

“Oh c'mon, it's even more fun when your not allowed!” came jovial voice of a happy-go-lucky little boy.

Suddenly, the lights came on. “You kids, again?” came the voice of a scholarly professor.

The girl, named Ivony, hid behind the boy, named Goon. They two had come here a week before, and accidentally stepped into an experiment.

“Can I at least test the results from last time?” Professor Moongood asked. Goon shrugged. “Sure, my sister isn't expecting me for awhile.”

Ivony's tiny voice rose from under the table she'd hidden under, “My mom is asleep, so I can stay too...”
Goon looked under the table.
“Come on out, it's alright...” He said, gently luring her out. Ivony was the only person he was gentle with.

”I've already seen her result: she's unaffected by narcotics, tranqulizers, or the effects of alchahol.”

The lab looked a whole lot less eerie with the lights on, but it still had a creepy edge to it. The only thing that wasn't creepy was the slow, easy music issuing forth from a record player nearby.

Goon sat on the table, kicking his legs and looking around. Ivony, now out and about, swept the hair from his eyes. “Why won't you let me cut it?” she asked.

Goon crossed his arms. “'Cause it adds mystery to my look.” he said defiantly. Ivony sighed. “Mystery, right...”

Suddenly, a huge chunk of iron fell from a shelf. Goon pushed Ivony out of the way, and it hit him dead center in the head.

Section 2:Goon the Indestructible!

The peice of iron fell from his head into his hands. Ivony was crying “Goon! Are you okay?!” Goon looked at the iron chunk, and felt his head.

“Y-yeah, but how?” he asked. Professor Moongood checked a chart. He then turned on a nearby flamethrower. Goon was enveloped in flames.

Goon stood there, not at all harmed. “Stop it!” Ivony proclaimed, turning the flamethrower off.

Professor Moongood chuckled. “Sorry, but I had to confirm it. It seems I've made your friend invernurable! You'll never have to worry about him getting hurt again.”

Ivory hugged him, resting her head on his shoulder. “That's good to hear...” she said. Goon blushed a little. “Um... yeah...”

“PROFESSOR ALLOIUS MOONGOOD, YOU ARE UNDER ARREST!” came a loud mechanical voice. Professor Moongood looked outside. “On what grounds?” he asked. “ILLEGAL EXPERIMENTATION ON UNDERAGED YOUTHS.” the voice returned.

Goon dashed outside to see a large robot. “I thought than monotone voice was Ben Stien...” Goon said, chuckling.

“WARNING, RESISTORS WILL BE SHOT, SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN, SUBSIQENT REVIVALS WILL BE...”

Goon tossed the iron chunk at the robot's head, cutting him off of his “SURVIVORS” drivel. The robot turned his focus to Goon, and fired a round of bullets.

Goon got hit by them, but it was like getting hit by styrofoam pellets. He merely chuckled, and proceeded to throw more large mineral peices from around the lab at it.

“DAMAGE LIMIT EXCEED, SELF-DESRUCT ACTIVATED” The robot then exploded, but Goon just stood in the middle of the explosion, striking a heroic pose.

“Exceptional!” Professor Moongood said, “But the lab accident seems to have been found by the Athoriti Bots, the ultimate in misspelled word quirkyness!”

But Goon was still posing, and Ivony was taking pictures with a camera she had found in the lab, so neither child heard. “Those kids...” he said, shaking his head.

Section 3: Meanwhile...

In a quaint corner café, a teenaged girl was sitting on a chair, drinking a complicted beverage she couldn't even pronounce. At her heels was a dog with rusty red fur and coal black eyes.

“What've you been up to, Joey?” the cafè owner asked her. She took a long sip of her drink, and looked up. “Me and 'ol Charr here are heading to the town up ahead, I'm supposed to get lessons from someone named Professor Moongood.”

The cafè owner shook his head, “Moongood got himself into trouble with the Authoriti Patrol, they said he performed an experiment on a pair of kids.”

“Surely it was an accident?” Joey asked, her eyes wide. The cafè owner shrugged. Joey placed some money down, and walked out

“Charr, come.” she said. Charr came bounding after her. “Good boy.” she said, petting her dog gently.

An unusually large amount of small Authoriti Bots were weeling about. All except one. This one almost looked human, except that she had the same lamp eyes as Authoriti Bots.

This bot looked like a preteen girl, and was looking at the wreckage of a building with a sad expression. “Such a shame...” the robot said in a thin reedy voice.

“H-hello..” said Joey hesitantly. Charr's hackles rose, but he did not growl. The air did seem to be heat shimmering, though...

The robot turned her focus to Joey. She locked on, aimed, and launched... a smile.

Joey relaxed, and so did Charr. The heat shimmering died down, and Joey offered her hand “I'm Joey, and you are...”

Section 4: Wax Systonic


Sparrow was a ninja apprentice, but he needed money. To get this, he joined th Authoriti Patrol, along with his young friend Peaks.

Now, however, they were having second thoughts. Peaks was forever young due to nasty shaman, and he could see the signs of corruption in the force.

But they also knew of someone in the force that was good, like them. The result of the Authoriti-Sapien Project, one of the branches of project deliverance.

They had planned to make a hybrid of human and robot, but this hybrid saw thier evil ways. Her name was M.A.R.Y., and she kept silent, waiting for others like her.

They were a resistance force, and with Moongood on their side from the start, they began a plan to stop the Authoriti Patrol.

Afterwards, they would be a family, because everyone else in the town had been systimaticly taken out.

Peaks, the ageless, is an expert in firearms and applying history to the present. He is also an expert in steampunk technology.

Sparrow, the ninja, is a ninja in training (obviously), and is an expert in forest combat.

Moongood, the professor, the technology expert, is the scientist and brains behind the operation.

M.A.R.Y, Machine, Artillary, Radio-Communication Youth, knows all the inside secrets of the Authoriti Patrol and works as a double agent.

Joey, A.K.A.“The Windy City”, is the urban relations expert, and is the most street-smart of the group. (And, unknown to her, her dog Charr is an Indian fire demon)

These were the members of the resistance, the Professor's latest experiment: Project Systonic.

At that moment, the professor sent a message to the PDAs of all exsisting members:

“We have two new mebers for systonic, please report to the lab.”


And the responses were sent.

Peaks: Alright
Sparrow: Okay
Joey: I'm on my way!
M.A.R.Y.: Coming!

Section 5: We meet again, Ben

Moongood never told the other members about eachother. The only two members that knew eachother were Peaks and Spartow, because they trained together.

Nevertheless, the scene at Moongood Lab that night was a festive one. While the members of systonic were getting to know eachother, Moongood prepared himself to deliver grim news.

He cleared his throat loudley, and only when he saw he had everyone's attention did he begin.

“I have unfortunate news to deliver, it seems that all biological residents of the surrounding areas aside from the human Authoriti Patrollers and ourselves have been systimitcly taken out.”

The previously happy mood of the room died on the spot. All except M.A.R.Y., who had no family of any kind. All the same, she embraced Goon in hug, seeing the tears starting to come from his eyes.

Ivony hadn't been seen or heard from, but suddenly, a scream came fro outside. Goon struggled from M.A.R.Y.'s embrace. “Let me help!” she begged. “Yes, I'll need it. They can't hurt me, but I'm too small to do anything.”

M.A.R.Y. dashed outside with Goon on her shoulders. “ I have an idea...” She said. Suddeny, the was a bright flash of light.

When the light cleared, Goon stood alone, but his attire was different. He now had a yellow visor over his eyes, and wore a green robe. It was made of metal, but it flowed as though it were fabric.

At his side was a gun in a holster. He took it out, and his visor locked on to a nearby Authoriti Bot.

“Hey, it's Ben Stien! Didn't you explode?” The Authoriti Bot looked at him. “I AM SUPRISED YOU COULD TELL ME APART. I CAN RECONSTRUCT MYSELF AFTER AN EXPLOSION”

“I think the visor helped me tell you apart, I'm gonna call you Ben from now on.” Goon said. Around his neck was a pendant that looked like an Authoritibot eye.

From it, M.A.R.Y.'s voice was heared. A noise that sounded like a chuckle came from the necklace.

Section 6: A Grim Fate

Suddenly, a slicing sound was heared, followed by a strangled scream. Spectrograph-1% appeared in the corner of the visor. “AN UNAUTHORIZED EXECUTION? WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?” Ben demanded. “Does that mean they just...” Goon began. M.A.R.Y. seperated from Goon, and looked into Ben's eyes. “Go to her, Ben and I will hold them off”

Ivony's eyes were foggy. “Goon, are you okay?” she asked. “Y-yeah, I'm fine.” He said. “I'm gonna wait for you.” She said resolutely. “What?” Goon asked.

“I love you Goon, and I'm going to wait for you when I go.” she said. “I love you too.” he said, but by the time he said it, she was already gone.

He carried her to the hill where the two would often play, and dug her a proper grave with a shovel from a nearby toolshed.

Moongood, Joey, Sparrow, and Peaks wastched in silence. “A child should never have to bury one of his buddies, this has already gone too far.” said Joey.

Goon went back to Moongood's lab. “Scissors, please.” he said. Moongood silently gave him a pair of scissor. He sat in front of a mirror, and cut his hair, the “mystery” it gave his look didn't seem to matter anymore.

“It's about time we kicked this into high gear, eh?” he said, looking at the awestruck members of Systonic.

M.A.R.Y. returned. “Ben kinda... exploded...” she said. “We'll catch up with him later then.” said Goon.

Project Deliverance didn't know it, but killing Ivony was the biggest mistake they could have possibly made.

Now there was nothing that would stop Goon from taking down every one of them (Except M.A.R.Y., and perhaps Ben)

“Though our number has been lessened, our iniative has been raised. To Systonic!” said Moongood, leading in a toast.

“To Systonic!” The others shouted with gusto. M.A.R.Y. patted Goon on the shoulder. “If you ever need a friend, I'm here.”

Moongood looked around “I'd like you all to think of eachother as family, we ARE all we have right now.”

Section 7: Meet Koen, Mudfish, and thoughts about the future.

“Everyone, I'd like to introduce my nephew, Koen.” Koen came out, but he was reading a book. “He obsesses over quadripedal mudfish, it's annoying...”

Goon knocked the book out of his hands. “We can read books later, right now we have bigger mudfish to fry!”

Koen looked down. “Did you just srrsly knock my book down?” Goon grinned “Ya, RLY!” he said. M.A.R.Y., sensing too many internet memes, changed the subject.

“What're we going to do about the Authoriti Patrols?” she asked. “Not much for now, we need to rest and plan. The youths of the experiments, and the volunteers, we need to rest...”

Later that night, Goon heared a sound coming from the roof. He gathered his blanket around him to fend off the cold, and acsend the stairs to the roof.

“And the stars that shine, with amber light...” seeing Goon, M.A.R.Y. stopped singing. “Keep singing, it's lovely.” he said, wonder in his eyes. He sat cross-legged on the ground.

M.A.R.Y. smiled, and resumed singing, as the stars swirled around in the sky...

Joey, Sparrow, and Peaks looked outside, seeing their own dreams in the stars. “G'night guys.” “Good night!” “Nighty-night” “Goodnight, kids”
